Cleaning and Antifouling
The cross-section shape and antifouling treatment of hook and loop tape fiber affect these two properties. However, the strength and hardness of the fiber itself have little effect on cleaning and antifouling.

Melting Point and Elasticity
The common raw materials of hook and loop tape include nylon 6 and nylon 66. The melting point of nylon 6 is 220 ℃ and that of nylon 66 is 260 ℃. But for the temperature conditions of carpet use, this is not a difference. The lower melting point makes nylon 6 have better resilience, fatigue resistance and thermal stability than nylon 66.

Wear Resistance and Dust Resistance
Clemson University of the United States has carried out an experiment with BASF zeftron 500 nylon 6 carpet and DuPont Antron XL nylon 66 carpet at Tampa International Airport for two and a half years. The results show that BASF zeftron 500 nylon is slightly better than DuPont Anton XL in color retention and pile wear resistance. There is no difference in dust resistance between the two yarns.
